CARPET CARE

Homeowners who have used many of the better-selling carpet cleaning products are often dismayed to notice that after using these products there is a definite change in the look and feel of their carpeting. Perhaps the cleaning itself looks good, but the carpeting seems to have changed texture.

In general, three things may occur:

(1) The carpeting becomes stiff. It stands up and is often rough to the touch, and can be annoying to walk on.

(2) The carpeting becomes flat and appears dull.  The fibers stick together after being cleaned with certain cleaning processes.

(3) The carpeting smells with a strong perfume odor for a long period after cleaning. Many users report that the initial cost of the carpeting doesn't seem to make a difference in the degree to which the carpeting "changes" after cleaning with conventional cleaners.

The following list contains examples of problems that may be encountered while cleaning. If these situations exist, damage to fiber and color may be permanent and may not be completely restored by cleaning:

  • Contamination by strong dyes, yellow mustard, dye-based permanent inks (primarily on nylon carpeting).
  • Contamination by bleaching agents, acids, and stain set by solvent-based cleaners.
  • Polypropylene (olefin) fibers contaminated with oil-based compounds may absorb oils permanently.
  • Spots that are lighter than the original fabric color may have permanently damaged dyes (bleached).

Henry’s Professional Carpet and Upholstery Cleaner unique cleaning action will not harm dyes or gentle fabrics, but completely breaks down foreign objects on surfaces so that they cannot re-attach.

The foreign objects are then removed by simply blot-ting or vacuuming

The finish is restored to the fabric or surface without sticky residues, powders or strong masking odors.

Because of Henry’s Professional Carpet and Upholstery Cleaner’s gentle but thorough cleaning action, carpeting and upholstery fabrics are not altered in texture, feel or color.

HOW TO USE Henry’s Professional Carpet and Upholstery Cleaner

Henry’s Professional Carpet and Upholstery Cleaner’s ease-of-use, whether for little spills at home or on high-traffic public foyers, is one of its major advantages.

Simply spray area to be cleaned. Use a brush as needed. Then blot dry or vacuum.

Henry’s Professional Carpet and Upholstery Cleaner cleans and restores carpets and fabrics all around the home or workplace, in autos, boats and RVs. Henry’s Professional Carpet and Upholstery Cleaner cleans quickly and completely, removing stains and odors. It does not "overclean" when used as directed. It works equally well on small stains or large cleaning projects. There are no complicated stain charts to follow.

Henry’s Professional Carpet and Upholstery Cleaner restores texture to fabrics. 1t releases lint, pet hair, soil, odor and debris. Henry’s Professional Carpet and Upholstery Cleaner unique cleaning action removes problems in "layers.” For example, a small spill that remains on the surface of the fabric to be cleaned can be considered one layer. When the cleaning solution comes into contact with the spill, the powerful cleaning action breaks apart the spill or stain so it is easily removed with a towel or vacuum.

Stains, liquids, or solids that have penetrated fabrics or may be of a thick or solid consistency, such as gum, tar, wax, etc. must be removed in layers. Additional agitation may be required in the form of:

•Brushing (natural bristles) or vacuum cleaner bender bar.

•Toweling, scraping (spoon or dull scraper); punching with a sharp object.

•Wet Vac extraction (liquid spills) or carpet cleaning machines (large areas).

Containment of the area to be cleaned is very important to keep the problem from spreading to surrounding areas. After the problem area is cleaned, spray a light mist over the surrounding area and towel or vacuum dry. In most cases this will eliminate the “clean spot" effect. If the "clean spot" still exists, cleaning the entire area is suggested. If the stain reappears ("wicking"), all the layers are not completely removed. Repeat the cleaning process until all embedded or absorbed material is removed.
